Wildlife Rehabilitation
We are on call with a number of state and local
agencies to assist with removal, relocation or rehabilitation of
wildlife. We charge no fee for this service.
Wildlife Rescue Story #1

Florida Soft-shell
This one was found in a canal in West Palm Beach.
He's completely blind and has a deformed front leg. He's a permanent
resident here.
Wildlife Rescue Story #2

Florida Pine Snake
We have received several of these rare snakes. One
in particular had it's back and several ribs broken. It's doing well
now and helps educate the public about Florida's unique wildlife.
Wildlife Rescue Story #3

Desert Phase California Kingsnake
This Desert Phase California King had it's back
damaged by a cage lid dropped on it. He was in bad shape when we
received it. We took it in and now it is feeding and breeding fine.
He has helped to sire babies on a regular basis.
Wildlife Rescue Story #4

Northern Blue Tongue Skink
This one was born with a congenital defect. Her back
vertebrate were kinked. The breeder was going to put her down but,
we took her in. The kinks have moved into her tail and even though
she can't use her back legs, she gets around well. She has produced
perfect babies on and off for the last 7 years.
Wildlife Rescue Story #5

Bearded Dragons
This is only one of a few Bearded Dragons we have
taken in. Many like this one suffer from Metabolic Bone Disease due
to lack of calcium. Other have congenital defects.
Wildlife Rescue Story #6

Solomon Island Monkeytail Skinks
This is just one example of the many specimens we
have received of this unique species. It's very sad to see these
incredible animals dehydrated, starved and just plain mistreated.
These are before and after photos. The difference is obvious.
Wildlife Rescue Story #7

Peachthroat Monitor
This beautiful little girl was burned by a heat lamp
and then had a re-occurring infection. She's healing well and eats
anything you want to give her!
Wildlife Rescue Story #8

Red Rat Snake
We take in a number of local Retiles and amphibians
that are injured. Most are released. Some become permanent residents
for education or breeding programs.
Wildlife Rescue Story #9

Iguana
This is just one of many Iguanas we have taken in.
He was less than a pound and would have been 41/2' long. His tail is
growing back and he's gaining weight!!!
Wildlife Rescue Story #10

Guyana Redtail Boa
She has a sad story... I was looking through a
dumpster near an animal importer. (Getting packing boxes) I found
her in this dumpster dehydrated and near death! She was only a few
weeks old. I asked the dealer if he meant to throw her away and they
said yes! Because she had a kinked tail she would cost too much to
feed and they would never sell her. (So they condemned her to death
in a dumpster instead of giving her to someone!!) She's doing great
and may be able to produce some beautiful babies! She helps with our
educational programs.
Wildlife Rescue Story #11

Albino Burmese Python
She came in about 6 months ago. It had a major
respiratory, bacteria infection and nearly two thirds of the ventral
scales were rotted off the belly. After months of work she is
healing and doing well. We also, found that she has several eggs
still attached to the ovaduct wall fron last years breeding!! Not
good!! but, it's not septic. She will have surgery soon and should
do well! She might not be able to breed but, she'll get a good home!
Wildlife Rescue Story #12

Burmese Python- 8'female
She was being fed 1 rat per month by the previous
owner. She's healthy but only about 4 inches around. They said she
was aggressive. Maybe just hungry!!! She's hasn't bitten but, for
obvious reasons has a heavy feed response!
Wildlife Rescue Story #13

Florida Box Turtle-Male & Central American Wood Turtles-3 types
He's had bad scars from a fire. Being treated and
will be released soon.
Central American Wood Turtles-3 types-Many have severely damaged
shells or missing legs. They will be placed with our current
breeders after quarantine. *These are not the slight imperfections
that we sell. These guys have been through you know what!
Wildlife Rescue Story #14

Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake
This beautiful 4-5' diamondback was captured by
workers on a Golf Course. Unfortunately they opted to pin it and
hold it VERY tightly around the neck. The pressure cut off blood
flow to the tissue around the neck and caused it to swell and jelly!
She may recover? We are working on her.* If anyone is going to
capture a rattler. Please opt for backing the specimen into a
garbage can with a lid or use a hook to move, NOT pin it.
Wildlife Rescue Story #15

Ball Python
This ball python was injured when a very
irresponsible owner left a rat in with it while on vacation!
STUPID!!!! She's healing slowly and will recover. She still has a
sweet personality. I know I wouldn't! |
