Range/Habitat: Australia/Tasmania Semi-Desert-Desert Species. Several sub-species.
Sexing: Males have femoral and pre-anal pores .Males have larger bulkier heads.
Size: Reaches 16 inches
Husbandy: Minimum cage size for 1 adult-29 gallon. Requires temperatures in the 85 degree range with basking areas in the 100-110 degree range. Use wide spectrum UVB bulb for basking and D3. Dry low humidity environment. Eats a large variety of food items. Fruits, vegetables, insects, pinkie mice, commercial diets. Add vitamin supplements every other meal. Especially calcium for females.
Breeding: Lays up to 50 eggs up to 2 times yearly. Reduce temperature and photoperiod prior to breeding. Do not mix males. Best ratio is 1 male and 2 females.
